Recently, I had the opportunity to work with the Cascade Pacific Council Climbing Committee, and help them design and create a clean and new website. This experience gave me the opportunity to dive in deep with WordPress, and really get to know the backend management of a site like this.

Gesture Recognition Keyboard
June 7, 2020
-
For my senior capstone project, three other students and I created a Gesture Recognition Keyboard for iOS. This is meant as an alternate mode of input for users to input text. The concept was that users could create a set of gestures by waving their phone around in 3D space. (kind of a cross between Morse code and sign language) This provides an alternate way for differently abled individuals to type, and increases the accessibility of the iPhone.
While we were able to get a partially working prototype created by the end of the term, due to technical constraints of the libraries and systems we were using, the model that we came up with wasn't able to be generalized. We ultimately came to the conclusion that heavy data cleaning and normalization would be required before model processing to be able to get useful results out.
Below is the link to the GitHub repository for this project for those interested.

Lori's List
July 18, 2019
-
Lori's List is a full stack web app implementation of a shopping list database. It was built for my mother, Lori, as a way to keep track of all of her different shopping lists.
Some of the most important features were the ability to have multiple lists, all with their own customizable name and color, and the ability to cross things off of your list without deleting them.
During this project, I learned alot about full stack development, using node.js, mysql and apache. I got to learn alot about SSL and TLS and how they play into web security, as the site is secured via https. I hope to continue adding features and improving upon the design, and hopefully make it into an Android app.

OSU Foodie
June 15, 2019
-
OSU Foodie is a restaurant review site built for students to be able to review their favorite restaurants around the Corvallis campus.
This was a final project for my databases course. In this class I learned how to use mysql and php to put together a dynamic website. Our final project put all of the skills we learned together, and allowed us to create something fun and unique.
